INTRODUCTION

Hospitality industry is definitely one of the largest industries in the world and interrelated to tourism activities excessively. It took a quantum leap soon after the Second World War, and ever since it is on the rise.  Nepal too, could not remain aloof from this industry. As the industry has grown rapidly in the past decades, the demand for professionally trained manpower is always on the increase. Meanwhile, a good number of students, those with hotel management as the optional subject in their +2, are going abroad for further studies due to the lack of enough and at the same time quantitative and qualitative  schools of their higher studies.  
In order to fulfill the gap, we believe that we can cater to the need of the honor in a productive and contribute in this academic discipline.

OBJECTIVES

  • To produce trained and skilled manpower required for the hotel industry,
  • To conduct academic programmes to produce managerial level personnel,
  • To retain the aspiring students in the country itself by catering international standard education,
  • To provide national as well as international industrial exposure to the deserving students,
  • To provide a sound education foundation in the specific discipline.
  • To facilitate to get the various job opportunities in the ground of hospitality/tourism industries.

SCOPE
So far as the scope of this study is concerned, it is as under:

Hotel: After completing the higher education of hospitality management, the students will have enormous opportunities in the different department of hotel such as Front Office, Housekeeping, Food production, Food and Beverage, etc. the position will be vary from staff level to managerial level. Other supporting departments of hotel provide job in sales and marketing and event management as well.
Restaurants: Restaurants make available two types of job opportunity like cooking and serving foods to the customers in varying amounts.
Resorts: They also provide the same opportunity as hotel do, but other activities available there for making the job of the candidates produced from different colleges or vocational institutions in both national and international level.
Casino: Not only gambling facilities but also food and beverage here through its various outlets like kitchen, restaurant, bar, etc.
Hostel: Job offers are accommodation manager and food and beverage manager as well as manual workforce in various aspect of the hostel.
Hospital: Job provided by the hospital are housekeeping and catering services.
Cruise: Jobs are available in cruise Line Company for apartment/room, food service and bar tending.
Airlines: They provide job opportunities for the post of air catering manager, waiter, barman, and other consistent fields on the basis of candidates’ potentiality. 
Independent Bars/pubs: Most of the downtown bars in various forms offer very high skilled workforce for their daily operation includes barman/ tender, server, etc.  

CONCLUSION
There is a great need for vocational education in a developing country like Nepal. Hence, given the opportunity, we believe that we can contribute substantially in imparting quality education.  This will certainly help in meeting the demand of the hotel and hospitality industry as a whole.
